There are other chipmunks around, each having its own territory. The bluebirds, wrens, and robins often alight in her pasture. But if the chipmunk that claims a little pasture at the other end of the cabin comes into her pasture, she scolds. Surrounding the cabin is a much larger territory that is claimed by a pair of rabbits. Within this there are per haps 100 or more chipmunk pastures.
