This book is such a sad indictment of the way that the poor women in Iran must live. It is absolutely heartbreaking that a good women can be murdered simply because her husband wishes to marry another women. And even worse is the absolute fear that women have of men so that no one is willing to come to her defense though everyone knows she is innocent.
The book is easy to read and interesting. You will probably be intrigued by some of the customs still practiced.
