My bonny lassie, this is, maybe, the opening of your life. Never forget your poor mother, even though your grand one may some day turn up." "Mother, dearie, how could I forget you?" and she bent down and kissed her. "What a splendid piece of jewellery this is, father, and what a beauty my mother must have been."
