RESOLUTIONS Unanimously adopted at a meeting of the Phonographic Students of Ames' Business College: Resolved, That we regard Standard Phonography as superior to every other system of shorthand writing, and that we regard a practical knowledge of it as highly desir able and necessary to a complete business or literary education. Resolved, That we regard Phonography as one of the most important and attractive branches of education in this Institution, and that to Prof. John B. Holmes too much credit cannot be given for introducing it as a regular branch of education, for the superior course of phonographic instruction, and for the great interest and success which has attended this Department since Its first organization. Resolved, That Prof. Holmes is entitled to onr most sincere thanks for the able, energetic, and successful manner in which he has imparted to us a knowledge of this Useful and Beautiful Art., Resolved, That we are fully satisfied that through the Phonographic Department of this Institution, is. at present, to be found the only sure road to a perfect knowledge of shorthand writing and reporting, west of New York city; and to this fact we would call the attention of all persons contemplating the study of Phonography, either as a more rapid method of writing in the transaction of ordinary business, or for the purpose of verbatim reporting.
