The rate of Spread was relatively slow up to 1919 but has been relatively rapid since that year. In New Jersey the disease is known to have been introduced at least twice prior to 1909 and probably several times later, and it has spread very rapidly since 1924. In Washington and Oregon the disease was introduced several times during 1912 and 1914 but has spread very little.
