Near Fine. First American edition. 12mo. in blindstamped brown cloth with spine lettered and decorated in gilt. Frontis engraving with tissue guard; title page printed in red and blue. Two additional full page engravings in the text. A tight example, interior bright and fresh (with the exception of the front and rear second blanks which are both evenly embrowned); gift inscription dated Dec. 25th/47" on the front free endpaper. Spine a bit sunned but gilt still bright, very shallow wear at the spine extremities and two small ships upper portion of the spine, neatly repaired spit inder the words "Snow Storm".
