[1] Vol. II)pp. Two volumes Octavo in quarter calf and marbled boards, with matching marbled edges, gilt lettered black spine labels and half-title in Vol. I. Spines a bit darkened with some scattered light foxing, primarily in volume II with minor dampstain affecting lower fore edge of volume II. Very good condition. An important work for the abolition of slavery based on the first hand observations of an English lawyer James Stephen (1758-1832) who had practiced in the West Indies on the island of St. Christopher's from 1783 to 1794.
