This is the fourth Joe Gunther novel I have read. As a teacher of English, I want to read an author in a chronological series. The first three novels I enjoyed a lot. This fourth, "The Skeleton's Knee" is dull and plodding and forced. I have two more later novels that I have already purchased, so I am hoping this was just an anomaly.
