Historical Interest Maybe
The humor and appeal has faded since these stories were created - though I know some people would argue the humor was pretty thin even then. Its a historical curiosity that these stories once sparked a national craze - but it only for those who have good memories of the stories and are not afraid of having those memories distrubed.
