At the end of the Bronze Age came "a migration of peoples of which the Sea Peoples were considered to be the main stream. Yet since their theory appeared with the first reading of the Egyptian texts of the Ramesside period, just over one hundred years ago, these Sea Peoples have remained shrouded in mystery and no one has been able to say more of them than that they came from the north and that their names sounded like those of people we know from later times."
