Reddish-brown cloth binding, with a blue-green spine; three paper labels. Clean text; 94 pages, with five pages of ads for the author's other works in the rear; contemporary (1915) signature on the FFEP. Ends of pages slightly tanned; spine has darkened; moderate soiling, with three small spots on the front cover. Not the prettiest copy, but sound.

Inscribed by Stephens to a noted author and scholar of Irish literature: "To Cornelius Weygandt, From James Stephens". With Cornelius Weygandt's contemporary pencil signature in upper margin of title page, partly intersecting the presentation inscription from Stephens, dated in year of publication: "Cornelius Weygandt/ XII-8-15" and with Weygandt's scattered pencil scorings and two brief annotations to 8 pages of text, and five lines of his pencil annotations on rear flyleaf. A nice association copy. Weygandt wrote more than a dozen books, including *Irish Plays and Playwrights* (his first book, published in 1913) and *The Time of Yeats*' (1937).
