The tension between these two texts is an eschatological one. 1Timothy 2:11-15 is based upon the created order of this present age, whereas Galatians 3:26-29 is based upon the spiritual order of the age to come (the age of the Spirit), but we must live in both ages. The more the Church lives in the Spirit, however, the less significant the created order becomes and more it is able to be ordered by Galatians 3:26-29.
