The musician's reading, even in the technical field, is today necessarily a very Wide one, and While these articles may not present an exhaustive View of any one subject, they may at least lead the reader to take an interest in the different branches of music, and thereby avoid becoming merely a specialist, in the art - a result to which the keen rivalry ofthe present is undoubtedly leading.
