For some reason the wonderful way Johnny Gruelle told his stories has been altered by people who think they know better. And the wonderful illustrations of Johnny Gruelle's that complimented his sweet characters so well have been thrown over for milktoast illustrations that are nothing special or original.
The title, 'Raggedy Ann 100th Anniversary Treasury'is completely misleading. I could go on. But I'll leave with this. The inside flap of the book is inscribed by grand parents to their grand daughter 2019. Less than a year later it's given away. I can only wonder why such a 'treasury' of stories wouldn't be treasured. Why mess with the original?
