It is a joy to read The Race

The Race is definitely a "feel good" book. Yes, most children's books fall under this category but Robin Rekittke included not only the "new kid" in the neighborhood but also meeting new friends, having these new friends acknowledge his disability, and encouraging him to participate in their games. The beautiful prose is accompanied by fabulous illustrations by Al Margolis. Parents, grandparents and children will enjoy this book together.
