This is a delightful book. I teach reading and have read several of Mr. Paulsen's books. The Quilt differs from his other books and shows what a versitile writer he is. His other books are more dramatic and adventurous. They, too, are excellent. This book however, shows a more tender and loving side. The characters show very realistic feelings and real life experience. I could totally escape into the book and feel as if I were there with the characters. I can't wait to let my students read it this year.
