This story was slow to start. I admit I put it down a time or two with the intent of not picking it up again. However, the slow start did not disuade me for long. And I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised that the book became so suspenseful and good after the first couple of chapters. Must read - get through those slow chapters and push on to the real story. It is worth the wait. Politics is a deceitful thing and this story centers on politics and family values. Reminiscent of the 60's scandals. There are twists to keep you enthralled once the story starts to unfold and it is worth the time to get there. Intricate where many novels cannot be, it works at the pace the writer set. Illegitimate children are nothing new. That it occurs in politics is nothing new. How it is told in this story is great. This is one I recommend a first read of highly and I believe it is likely you will even take a second peek.
