Their goal is the Cro-Magnon settlement in what is now southern France where Jondalar lived as a young man. Accompanied by the half-tame Wolf, the stallion, Racer, and the mare, Whinney, they are forced to brave both savage enemies and the elemental dangers of weather and terrain in their search for the place that will become Home. Set 25,000 years in the past, yet utterly relatable today, The Mammoth Hunters is an epic tale of love, identity and the struggle to survive, rich in detail of language, culture, myth and ritual. Too much sex
I love the series! I think she gets a little too much into the 'sexual' aspect...Don't need to go into that much depth with that! But they are very good books!

fun book
This is a great book in the series. We learn that the ancients were in some ways more able to survive in the world than we are.

Anotther Fine Copy
This was another of the Jean Auel novels which I sent a friend in Illinois. I have not read it, myself, but sent it when he expressed and interest in receiving it.
It came well before Christmas, in time for me to send it to him, and arrived at our home in excellent condition.

Love this series!
This is a Christmas gift for our niece. My husband and I have both read the Earth's Children books and have been buying them for our niece, who is also addicted to them. Can't wait for the new one in March!
