A wonderful children's book!
My parents read The Pecan Tree to me when I was a child, back in the early seventies. Now that I have a son of my own, I have been collecting the wonderful stories I grew up with. This one posed a challenge as I didn't remember much more than the title, but I eventually found it here at Alibris.com. The illustrations in this book are wonderful drawings, and my son enjoys looking at all the details of each picture just as I once did. He has even started filling in the next line of the story as I did too.
I never had the copy with the 45rpm record, just the book, so I wasn't interested in spending the money (today) for the versions of the book with the record in them.
It's a nice short read, and the pictures will captivate any child looking at it. I'm bias, because it was one of my books growing up, but hey, it's a wonderful book regardless.
