The kings were silent for a long time. Then the monarch of Tyre said: "Alas! the life of kings is like this cedar before the tempest." "Be it so," replied Solomon; "may it be also like unto the cedar after the tempest! Dost thou perceive the fragrance, Hiram, which the cedar sheds now in death through the forest?"
