An interesting set of stories on a theme.
William Sullivan, perhaps best known for his hiking guides to the Pacific Northwest is also a writer of fiction. This collection of stories are all set in Oregon, but they are also linked together by the model of J.S. Bach's "Goldberg Variations" in that there is an emotional 'theme' that links the stories. The author explains it (for those, like me, who missed it) at the end of the book. Many of these stories are creative, or have unexpected twists and turns.
