The Ocean Waves Collection by Tangerine Dream is the most aptly named recording in their vast catalog. These are all previously issued TD tunes, but digitally remastered and assembled by lone founding member Edgar Froese as a theme collection -- no group in history has done as much of this as TD. These are all previously issued TD tunes, but digitally remastered and assembled by lone founding member Edgar Froese as a theme collection -- no group in history has done as much of this as TD. These five cuts are remastered pristinely, but with the exception of "Quinda" at over 20 minutes, there isn't much here that has any real pulse, or stretches out in any convincing manner the way the band does at their best. This is mostly '80s-era material and it is soundscaped nearly perfectly; but that doesn't necessarily make it a compelling listen.
