I used an earlier edition of this book over 20 years ago and the new edition is still a most excellent resource on breastfeeding. Helpful for new and expectant moms to know what to expect and lots of information to help with the challenges that come up. I have given this book away as a gift several times, most recently to my neice. The illustrations and diagrams are helpful along with all the information.

Old book, but reliable
Even though this book seems outdated it got me through the first couple of weeks of breastfeeding. My birthing class instructor recommended it and I am glad that she did. I would recommend it to anyone who has never breast fed before and even to those that have for the "any" situation that can come it. This book covers it.

An excellent resource for new mothers!
I have nursed two happy, healthy girls and absolutely could not have done it without "The Nursing Mother's Companion." What a gem! Ms. Huggins is deeply acquainted with her subject and presents the material in an easy -to- read and comprehensible format. I have given this book to many new Moms and have recieved numerous accolades on such a useful gift. I recommend this book to first time Moms as well as those nursing their second or third child. The information is up to date and covers many scenarios that occur with different children. Well worth more than its weight in gold!
