What a gem this book turned out to be! A great book about second chances, an intriguing mystery to solve, and a romance, all in one. Although the surface story itself is a good one (about a note found after a plane crash, and the search for the intended recipient), it is also an allegory with parallels to the Gospel (a message of love and forgiveness that came from above, from a Father to a child, and the various responses to it: one who didn't think he needed forgiveness, one who felt too bad to be forgiven, and another who embraced the trappings of religion for the wrong reasons, but never accepted the message itself. And finally, the true recipient who recognized that the message was intended for her and cherished it and the restored relationship with her Father.) The newspaper columnist who was given the Note, also is changed by it and begins to mend her own relationship with her Father. The only disappointment was that, as a Christian book, it was incomplete, since they didn't record Peyton actually being forgiven by her heavenly Father, which, ultimately, is the most important thing.
