With the aid Of hired hands and the application of the most advanced farming methods, this farm was brought into a high state of productivity and became a source Of satisfactory profit to the owner. 13 Weller never became a planter in the traditional sense, but engaged instead in general farming, viniculture, and in the operation of a small nursery.
