Wonderful
First read Walter Lord's 1955 A NIGHT TO REMEMBER, then read THE NIGHT LIVES ON, an updating of the earlier work that helps consolidate the experience of Titanic survivors. Both are highly recommended.

This book is a "must read" for any Titanic enthusiast or history buff. The author, who practically devoted his entire life to the tragic liner and her survivors wrote this sequel to his 1955 legendary "A Night to Remember" 31 years later. In it he analyzes the story, the ship and the collision from different perspectives. An interesting book that is easy to read and follow. Lord became close to several surviving passengers, often comminicating with them and their children about how their lives were affected by that epic tragedy.
