Seller's Description:
Very Good. 0070458731. This book is in very good condition; no remainder marks. It does have some cover shelfwear. Inside pages are clean.; 6.5 X 0.75 X 9.5 inches; 293 pages.
This is an excellent supplement to any of the "standard" books on industrial water treatment (e.g. Betz, Nalco, etc.) and provides real life examples of boiler failures and analyses of their causes.
The introduction covers the chemical treatment of water and steam, and then follows in succeeding chapters with dozens of real world examples of tube failures, mostly caused by lack of proper water treatment.
The photographs are clear, with extensive analysis on the materials used, the situation, and the result of the failure.
The old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words is fully demonstrated in the contents of this book.
I'd recommend this book to anybody involved in industrial water treatment, and especially for anyone working with all types of boilers.
