This book is a collection of stories, novellas and anecdotes by Iv???n Kov???cs that was written over a period of several decades. Some of them have been previously published in literary journals and magazines in South Africa, others are now published for the first time. They cover a wide area extending from memories of childhood in a troubled and terror-ruled Hungary in the 1950's to fictional stories of a gothic character in which ghosts and shape-shifters capture the reader's imagination. There are also anecdotes of a humorous nature that hark back to the author's schooldays in South Africa and what it means to be an altar boy in the service of a Hungarian South African congregation. "The Room at the Back of the Caf??? Toulouse" and "The Moonlight Sonata" are two novellas in this book that feature the 'psychic investigator' Juan P???rez, who faces the unknown and mysterious with his special kind of skills that are unique and foreign to regular private investigators.
