This is a real find. The lives of Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley and Lord Bryon were entertwined and affected by their times and the other people in their lives. The story is fascinating and I have purchased several copies of this book to share with people who are intrigued by the lives of authors. (Shaggy Muses is another book in this category.) The real monster in this story is Mary Shelley's father. You don't have to be a feminist to really dislike this guy.

Excellent Introduction
This is a excellent introduction to the lives of the five people at the centre of the Haunted Summer (Byron, Shelley, Mary Shelley, Claire Clairmont and Dr John Polidori). It is written in an easy to read style.
Whether you are a new fan of these historical writers or just a general passing interest, this would be a good place to start!!
