According to my Ukranian wife, the story is not exactly like the ukranian version.
The grandmother does not ressemble the babyshka's we know.
Personally I found the book more a picture book than a reading book, too few lines.

A really charming story about animals squeezing into a mitten to get warm. On janbrett.com you can download activities with this book for different age groups. We have the board book, and my two-year-old is not that interested yet, but at the very least kindergarteners through second graders will enjoy it.
