His mission began in the mid-1950s when he served in the Air Force in Korea. "I promised the Father to return as soon as I could and spend the rest of my life serving Him through serving these people." He has kept his promise, moving permanently to Korea in 1960 and staying.By 1990, he had baptized some 5200 Koreans, then stopped counting. He taught Bible at Korea Christian University for 22 years and now teaches graduate students. He served as head of the Bible Department 19 years and was acting President of Korea Christian College for two years. He started some 50 congregations in Korea, and printed over 100 tracts and teaching materials in the Korean language. Over the years, he has spoken at many annual Asian Mission forums among the churches of Christ and he has been an arbitrator on several occasions between missionaries. If anyone is qualified to provide a manual for elders of missionary-sponsoring congregations, it is Malcolm Parsley, 58-year veteran of all the ups and downs, problems and solutions, defeats and victories of mission work.
