A must have book for serious Mennonite researchers
Peter Martin Friesen's work is widely recognized as covering an important part of Mennonite and Mennonite Brethren history. Historians disagree about the degree to which his work is biased but it is still a must read book for anyone who is seriously studying the Mennonites and Mennonite Brethren in South Russia. The organization of the book is difficult but reflects the tools available to an author who was writing a book of this size in that era. A brief index is included but a more comprehensive index would be very useful.
