Mysterious young servant girls started appearing in Borough Park in Brooklyn. They were the young wards of the Melog Foundation, and they loved to help care for the large families of the Hasidic Jews. First there were few, then there were many, soon there was trouble. One got arrested for dancing, while others caught the attention of the hipsters who were invading the neighborhood. Feeling that they were not complete, the young wards confronted Dr. Bernstein who ran their "therapy sessions." Bernstein confessed that they were not like other people but were special. This had a liberating effect on the young sisters, who sometimes referred to themselves as "Golem Girls." More and more Golem Girls started to appear. Soon the sentient parrots haunting the neighborhood grew alarmed at the proliferating Golem Girls. The emerald birds then schemed with the hipsters and the Silicon Valley investors to get rid of the young wards. At the end the Golem Girls transformed themselves and became free. The Melog Foundation is the first in a series about the Golem Girls, about how they appeared, about how they fell from grace, and about how they finally redeemed themselves.
