This is a story that I enjoyed in my childhood and wanted to read to my grandaughter now. It was just as good as I remembered. A fisherman catches a magic fish who will grant him wishes. He wanted nothing but his wife wanted everything. Each time he returned to ask more of the fish, the illustrations show the ocean roiling, indicating that the fish is getting fed up. Sure enough, the wife's last request makes the fish withdraw everything he has given and the wife ends up back where she started in the little hut. I think this is a good story for today's children, who often have way too much in the way of material goods. A nice little moral tale with great illustrations.
