The Keys of the a his Tower over the Gate were freely put into my hand, and he perufed the Evidences partly in the Tower, and partly in a Chamber on the South fide of it, which then belonged to Edw. Bernard, one of the Proftors of the Univerfity; for thro his chamber was the paflage up to the Tower. There are many Evidences belonging to Walton Manner, and the Mannour of S. Giles, both in the North Suburb of Oxon. which Evidences had belonged to Ofney, Godftow, &V. as having been formerly Lords of thofe Mannours. Whereas in the Month of May 1667 A.W. had leave given to him by the Parifhioners of S. Marie Hoc erat in Votis modus Agri non ita magnus Hortus ubi, et Tefto vicinus jugis Aquas fons, Et paulum Silvae fuper his foret. Anno Dni. 1669.. N.B.
