I ordered this boxed set of the Little House books to read aloud with my 10 year old granddaughter. I remember reading the books when I was in elementary school in the late 1960's and loved them. My granddaughter just started watching re-runs this summer on tv of the Little House tv show with Michael Landon, so she was familiar with the characters. She and I took turns reading chapters outloud this past weekend of the Little House in the Big Woods, the first book in the series. We just loved it! I would highly recommend this wonderful boxed set series!

Excellent book for children and juveniles. Shows one family's struggles and responses to adversity as they live in the United States in the 1800's. Interesting insights into country recipes, living, working, and humor. Shows many of our country's values in this time.

Simply delightful
These nine amazing books were made to share ... my mother read them to me when I was a young girl, I still take much pleasure in reading them now as a woman and reading them in turn to my children.
How wonderful to go back in time to the unsettled America and discover the exciting adventures of Laura Ingalls and her family, travelling from the big woods in Wisconsin to the endless prairies and then onto the first towns.
Learning how they did things in those days and teaching my own children about the sometimes lost values of the family and neighbours is attained in every one of the nine books. A must read for any age from 7 to 77 you will come to love the Ingalls family.
