Hello friend, If you found this book, most likely you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer. You probably feel a ton of different emotions, just like I did. I wrote this book with you in mind. As I journeyed through cancer, I wrote about my experiences, hoping to someday help you. And looking back-this may sound strange-I now see it was a blessing to get sick. I watched for the blessings along the way. I met so many awesome people through it all. Not just doctors and nurses, but people who also had some type of cancer. They inspired me and kept me going. I was also blessed to have supportive daughters and friends who were there for me. But ultimately, I had to fight for myself. You see, I had spent most of my life caring for others. I put others before myself and really didn't know how to ask for what I needed or wanted. Cancer was a wake-up call for me. I had barely traveled or dreamed. I had fallen asleep to what life can truly be. But cancer . . . cancer gave me the gift of life.
