France is my not so secret lover... A 28+ year affair. Every time I visit then return home to the states, bits of my soul remain on French soil. France is captivating... and she never disappoints...no matter the season. If you are planning an upcoming vacation or weekend getaway and...you are a lover of cobblestone streets, centuries old architecture, spectacular caf???s, pastel shutters and quiet reflection at sunrise...I have written this gem just for you. There are times when staying in a large hotel property has its advantages and strong points. However, there is nothing quite like the charm of an antique filled Chambre d'h???tes (bed and breakfast), Maison d'h???tes (guest house), Gite (a self-catering flat, house or cottage), Auberge (small inn) or Villa (luxury home). Or, an ancient Mas (a traditional Languedoc Roussillon rural property) surrounded by sunflowers, or the elegance of a 17th century French Chateaux (castle) towering in the fields, or a majestic Domaine (a grand property or estate), in repose amongst the vineyards, or the romantic caress of a 18th century Maison de Ma???tre (a bourgeois town or village mansion) resting elegantly along the Canal du Midi, or the stunning honey-colored stones of a Bastide (manor house) nestled in the foothills or towering high in elevated terrain...the choice is yours for the taking..."Que pourrait-on demander de plus? (What more could one want?) I have written for your pleasurable planning and travel..."The List 250+ Exquisitely Charming Hotels, Inns, Chambres d'h???tes, Maison d'h???tes, Domaines, Maison de Ma???tre, Bastide, Villas, Auberge, Mas and Ch???teaux in the Languedoc, South of France". I have included the village name, property name, address of the property, telephone contact and website to each exquisitely charming property listed for ease of direct access if desired, as well as direct contact to the proprietor with your potential inquiry and additional questions. Having the address in hand, while planning your travel to the south of France, gives you the glorious option of performing a Google Maps search of the property location, village position, proximity to airports, rail stations, local bus options, as well as surrounding amenities and activities. On the weekends when I wish to pop over to visit antique markets in another charming and quaint village in the Languedoc along the Mediterranean coast, I research my surroundings with Google Maps... it is here that your upcoming journey starts to become real, before you even set foot from your front door! You can see and discover, beforehand, l'???glise (the church), les routes (the roads), la p???tisserie (the pastry shop), la boulangerie (the bread shop), la boucherie (the butcher shop) et plus (and more)...What on earth did we do "avant" (before) Google Maps? Living "semi-retired" in the south of France, specifically the Languedoc-Roussillon, I love sharing my world and remain completely at your disposal for unlimited assistance. Please do not hesitate to contact me direct should you wish for more detailed recommendations or perhaps a bit of research on a village in the Languedoc you are considering and do not see the village listed in this wonderful compilation. I will personally research for you and send options for your review. The Languedoc has literally hundreds and hundreds of luscious little pockets of beauty. And one other note...should you pass my way during your stay in the south of France...we must assuredly meet at one of my favorite cafes for a p???tisserie and caf??? cr???me...my treat...bien s???r (of course)! I'd love to hear details of your France adventure and the marvelous places you've stayed! Jusque l???... (Until then)...Bon voyage!
