Excerpt from The Law of Libel in Its Relation to the Press: Together With the Law of Libel Amendment Act, 1888, and All Previous Statutes Bearing on the Subject This Work does not profess to be an exhaustive treatise on the law of libel, but merely a useful and practical hand-book on the Law of Newspaper Libel, and is primarily designed to meet the requirements of those connected with the Press. I have stated the law in the form of propositions followed by explanatory notes, and have dis cussed the various difficult and complicated ques tions which arise on the construction of the Law of Libel Amendment Act, 1888.
