A Pearl About Purl
This is Sally Melville's second book in her series 'The Knitting Experience'. This one dealing with purl and therefore stocking stitch and ribbing. Among the great patterns are garments for men and children too - there are sox, gauntlets, mittens and hats as well as a range of cardigans and sweaters. The pictures and patterns of the same garment in different yarns eg wool or ribbon are useful and help you more easily decide what look you're after - the chapter How To Make Successful Garments is helpful here too. As in book 1, the photos and diagrams are clear and useful. This series is uniformally excellent.
