It is very pleasant reading. We like it hugely. It is rather 1 lengthy;' hence we can afford our readers no other proof of the pudding than a few of xhepiums, which we proceed to pick out. Our respected correspondents will require some ' green willows' to wear round their hats; for 1 list! O list!' The critic says that the 1 Quod Correspondence' is ' balderdash stuff, ' for quoting from which he 'owes his readers an apology;' that the good old ( Grandfather's Port-Folio' is 4 sentimental twattle;' that1 Edward Alford and his Play-fellow' is such an 'unintelligible farrago of skimble-skamble stuff' that it 'would be degrading to criticism to dwell upon it;' that Consul Greene, in his ' Letters from Rome, ' has hashed up 'trite and thread-bare subjects, 'embracing only ' information of the most common-place character;' that' Life in Hayti' contains 'no solitary item of new information;' that Rev. Mr. Cheevrr's Grenada and the Alhambra ' is a' mere second-hand serving up of cold condiments;' that the 1 Rime of Sir Thopas' is an ' abortion of stupidity, ' (abortion of stupidity (U good!') 'puerile and silly stuff, which it would be an insult to the understanding of the reader to dwell on; insinuates that The April Shower' by Mr. H. W.
