Seller's Description:
Fine in N-Fine jacket. Book. Signed by Author(s) A square solid tight un-read copy. This copy has some very light pagedge soil else fine. The 12.95 jacket has some light rubbing, some minor edge wear and three short closed tears, two of which were repaired. Over-all a pretty damn nice copy of one of the best vampire novels ever written. Basis for the Scott Glenn, Gabriel Bryne, Ian McKellen. Jurgen Prochnow, Michael Mann movie. This copy is signed by way of a laid in book plate signed by Paul. THIS COPY IS IN MY POSSESSION AND NORMALLY SHIPS NEXT DAY.
I was in my late teens when I first read this book, shortly after it was released. It remains one of my all time favourite novels. Set during the second world war, it tells the story of two groups of Germans, one regular army, the other SS, stationed at a keep high in the Romanian mountains and what happens to them over the space of about a fortnight. The story plays with the elements of familiar vampire stories and comes out with something fresh and new. Mr Wilson tells a cracking tale and tells it superbly well. Riveting stuff, highly recommended.

A romance novel that will surprise you
It doesn't start out that way, as a romance novel. It starts out as a horror/war/Nazi against the world kind of book. But it blossoms. It shifts, like the shadows in the long forgotten Keep. It has you cheering by the end. Read it. You will not be disappointed.
