I've read six stories by Magdalen Nabb. With each one I could see her style developing until The Innocent finally culminated in an absorbing and intricate tale of murder. Marshal Guarnaccia's humanity and keen ability to sense when something doesn't fit is fully realized. Nabb's great strength is in her ability to create wonderful dialogue.
