"The In-Between" traces the development of consciousness & then self-consciousness from its earliest beginnings in primitive life to its complex manifestation in the late 20th century. The central focus is to describe the tremendous force that is thinking as that thinking has gone about the task of building the world in which we live. The consequence of this historical & philosophical presentation is to be able to systematically describe the power of self-responsibility as that power lies at the center of human reality. The global possibility of this is of course world peace. Not being prejudiced by the naturalistic bias of modern science, the work is able to achieve insight from the perspective of a more encompassing attitude. Expressed somewhat differently, spanning the ages from the time of the man sitting by his fire considering his broken spear, to the present time of opportunity & global re-consideration, there is to be told the story of humanity coming to know itself, of consciousness learning to expand beyond temporary limitations. The possibility of peace is at the same time the opportunity in which to comprehend this expanse of humanity to an extent never before imagined. But little is done without the person & world peace becomes possible only when one has already found peace within oneself. "The In-Between" is an impassioned portrayal of human life from the point of view of the good & is written with enthusiasm & deep conviction.
