Jacket mildly edgeworn and a tad rubbed. Handsome, superbly tight first edition of this surprisingly scarce chronicle and collector's guide--plus this copy bears two Civil War centennial relics itself! Front flyleaf top bears a thick, heavy stamped tin decorative name badge (3¼" X 2¼") of the "Civil War Centennial / Commemoration / Springfield, Illinois" with paper center identifying wearer as Arnold F. Gates (1914-93), noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar. Flyleaf verso bears a heavy stock 3" X 2" printed name badge for "New York Civil War / Round Table / Annual Field Trip / Chattanooga" with plastic strips identifying it as "1967" and "Arnold Gates" (who was a long-time officer of this group).
