I was really sorry to come to the end of this book. Edith Warner's life, and the lives of those she lived with, is a lesson of a life well-lived.

A beautiful classic
If you lived in Northern New Mexico as it sprang into the 20th century this book will bring tears of memories to your eyes. It's a plain tale about a person who bridged two peoples, two geographies and two historic times. Ms. Church dips the reader into a big tub of location scenery and people's ways. You will want to travel there but the only way to that world is through this book.
I've given this book away so many times I always wound up with no copy of my own. This one I'm keeping. I got so upset reading Frank Waters' horrid book about the same people I needed to re-read this one.
