Very Good. 1900. 8 Volume set. Number 43 in Limited Edition publication of 500. Red quarter bound, red points, marbled paper. Boards do not show any wear. Vol 1 front cover has a slight bump on the upper corner. Top edge of text block is gilt, fore edge and bottom edge of text block are marbled. End papers are marbled. Volumes 1 and 3-8 have 2 page color frontispiece of Civil War generals. Volume 2 had frontispiece that is one page monochromatic. Pages of all volumes are age tanned. Bindings on all volumes are tight and square. A few of the pages seem to have light smudges, but otherwise appear unread. Vol 4 & 6 have a couple of illustrated pages with tiny tears that have been halted with very thin strips of tape. Set is very large and heavy. Set was donated to Friends of the Omaha Public Library.
