Henry Hunt Snelling (1817-1897) was an American artist, editor and author, the son of Colonel Josiah Snelling, who fought in the Battle of Tippecanoe. Henry was the editor of the The Photographic Art Journal, later called the Photographic and Fine Art Journal, in New York. His works include: The History and Practice of the Art of Photography; or, The Production of Pictures Through the Agency of Light (1849), A Dictionary of the Photographic Art (1854) and Memoirs of a Boyhood at Fort Snelling (1939).
