feudalism before spacefaring folk
Much can be made of a rerendering of the great Christian Crudades - and where would that get us but into philosophical argument? That Mr Anderson's effort has substituted green BEMs for the hated saracen infidels and the protagonist's wife Genevieve is wined and dined by a bard/soldier suspiciously resembling Launcelot to fill the void left by her hard-working errant husband off defending; well, you get the picture. A pale imitation of the original is what I see, although the original was not much to sneeze at.
The good news: this is a good way to get a little spoonful of medicine, rather, something that's good for you- a little knowledge called history, for those who cannot take it neet.
