This book is the definitive work on the gyrfalcon. Like most of the Poyser series, it covers taxonomy, distribution, and detailed behavior of this northern falcon. Detailed chapters on all aspects of behavior (breeding, predation, movements) are clearly written and referenced to personal observations or literature sources. It might be mentioned that many Russian sources were accessed by the authors. Recommended for all serious ornithologists.
